I have 86 R spindles and hubs/rotors with 400EX calipers so my question is can I use EX spindles with the R hubs and rotors?? It will be cheaper to buy the EX spindles to use with my EX calipers than it would be to buy R calipers to use with my R spindles. Hope I don't confuse anyone I just want to know if R hubs are compatable with EX spindles?? Any info greatly appreciated

And are EX and R tie rods and ends the same also??????

86 & 87 spindles are straight shafts where 88 -89 and 400ex use tapered shafts. they wont work

So if the spindle shafts are different what is the difference between 86-87 hubs from 88-89 hubs

You also have to use the same steering stem as spindles.

im not an R fanatic but as far as i know thats the only difference. i dont beleive they changed anything else but i could be wrong.

the 86 -87 hubs are a completely differnt look from 88 89 and the 88 89 hubs use a tapered collar inside the hub (in between the bearings) where as teh 86 87 use a straight non tapered collar
