I have heard nothing but good about the Curtis Sparks exhaust systems. Between the X-4 and X-6, I'm leaning towards the X-4 because I've read that it has better bottom end. I want anything you can give me, opinions, better suggestions, websites for dynos or cheap prices... anything you want to give me.

If your planning on biulding the motor later on I'd just get the X-6

I have had my x6 for about a year and have nothing but positive to say about it.

What about HMF? From what I've read, the full system doesn't give you any more power than the slip on, they're exactly the same. How can that be?

Yes an x-4 is mostly for a stock engine and x-6 is for a modded engine but i think you would lose low end on the x-6.I am think About either getting a Hetrick racing pipe for 439.00 i think it is Not really sure But i dunno about the jetting I'll have to call befor i order it when i get the cash :blah: but i don't have enough money for an sparks. I like the look of then big gun and hfm but i want a full system. If any one has a hetrick racing pipe Let me know how you like it power gains jetting??? Please Theres many differn't pipes out there but lrd.sparks, hfm, hetrick all good builders

good luck and please let me know :)

I also have a Hetrick pipe. The ceramic coating has held up great, and overall, the pipe is of great quality. I needed something that flowed very well for my motor, but at the same time, I also needed something that wouldn't create a huge racket. Although I ride on my own land, I still don't want to go deaf by the time I am 35. I got what I was looking for with this pipe. I recommend it.

I have ran sparks pipes since 1988. Curtis knows his stuff. He is the best. Whether it was 250x's in 1988-1992 or 300ex or 400ex. Now we have the new 450r. It will be the best. Just follow all there suggestions, carb, jetting etc. Dont cut corners.Run sparks whole package. Reply to your question go x-6.. Enjoy

I have a Sparks X4 on my 300 and I'm never upset I spent the cash on it. The finish seems awesome and the sound and power can't be beat. The X4 claims to be mostly for low end but I gained a lot on the top too. I have also found their jetting recommendations to be close. I would definately buy Sparks again. :D

How loud is the Sparks? I don't want my bike to sound like a straight-pipe Harley.

It's not as loud as your typical Harley, but it is loud. Nice deep, throaty type of rumble. Anyone that has one will agree that the X-6 puts out a sweet sound.
