I got a close up picture of the carburator off the BAJA1k 450R and just like all the articles say, it's a 41mm FCR probally taken of the CRF450R (honda pn:16100-MEB-771 ). Maybe this is the "tweek" honda is including, yea right- we wish. Anyway should bolt right up with possibly a TPS (throttle positioning sensor) swap, if needed,...

Chad where can I get a 41mm fcr for $338 that seems like a decent deal? Also for what reason would you need the tps sensor I don't know a lot about them except for replacing one on my car one time?thanks

It's a 40fcr and can be purchased at service honda for that price. this has been a real popular mod with the z/kfx 400 crowd.

Wont it be dangerous to run the FCR if you are using a thumb throttle? There wont be any safety mechanism if the throttle sticks. The FCR carb off the CRF450R is designed for a twist throttle only. It has two throttle cables, a pusher and a puller, to stop the throttle from sticking wide open.

I run a FCR39, with a thumb, no problems. Yes it is a push /pull style carb, but it works fine without the pull (or push, I guess it depends) cable.
