Be careful with synthetic oil, it can screw your clutch up bad. But no more than 2.5 quarts of oil should be put in a 400ex, sorry i'm too uneducated to convert into millilitres.

It should take about 1.8 liters.

Jumbo747, you're slipping back to your dumbass ways.

I have read somewhere more than once that synthetic oil is bad for an atv clutch. Maybe yellow2001400ex read the same thing. In "dirt wheels" maybe?

Somebody needs to make a sticky here, like for jetting in the performance forum.

One that says --- before you mention synthetic oil or actually synthetic oil & clutches go do a DAMN SEARCH!!!

Or --- Synthetic oil w/o friction modifiers will not hurt the clutch (mobil 1 red cap)

Not to saying anything to kgilly, he just wanted to know how much.

There has to be like 500 threads about stupid synthetic oil and clutches and none where oil has actually damaged the clutch, (unless it was a friend of your girlfriends brothers cousin or something like that).
