Yeah I heard about suzuki comin out with a 450.... so i bet we'll see the Suzuki and Kawasaki crew steppin' up soon... the way to go is a 450 tho... so to be even competitive in the market a company would have to produce a 450 so i wasnt surprised to hear this

it was in the "whats hot whats not" section it was something like "whats hot: getting a 440 big bore, whats not: spending $$$ on getting it in, suzuki's z400 will be a z450 by summer...."

Yeah - I had heard awhile back that it was going to be the same geometry, just with a 450 motor. If it keeps the reverse and electric start and they do something more about the frame that could be my next quad

if it keeps reverse and electric start it will probably be the best selling 450

If it has the same everything except the motor, won't it be around 30lbs heavier then the other 450s? You would think that they would try to make it as competitive as possible.

I agree, if it keeps the starter and reverse it will be the best sell in late '04. Hey Honda, get your head out of you *****.

i would also like to see a z-450 but i think they should build it from the ground up so it dosent look exactly like the 400.. i agree with every one else if it had reverse and electric starting would be the best selling sport quad..:) :blah:

well, to shave off the lbs i wouldnt mind kick start but moving from a 300ex to a 400ex ive definitly learned the value of reverse

I would way you will probably just see an increase in cc's and a little better shocks and mounts and about $1000 bucks added to the cost!

I agree with a new frame design. They took a step in the right direction with a mimicked Honda frame but there have just been far too many failures. I don't know if they're using thinner walled tubing or what the exact problem is. Ever look at a bare Z400 frame? Take a look at the upper steering stem mount. IMO that's just asking to get bent in a crash.

Well since we are talking rumors, I was told that the 450 will be a complete new quad and the Z400 will stay the same.

Yea ok lets take a Z400 w/ frame issues and drop a 450 dritbike engine in it so the frame has a better change of breakin

wut about the suspension though? fully adjustable like honda and yamahas?

:D my Z is loaded, and PAIDED for so I'll be getting a 450cc or 500 cc kit for my 2003 Z.............. it will be cheaper for me to just fix up what I have. I ride dirts bikes too, so it gets expensive with two toys!! I love the Z , i just wish it had more POWER !!!!!!!!

Suzuki isn't gonna put a new motor in a frame w/ issues. Lets be real here. It will incorporate some of the Z400 tooling for cost reasons, but I'm sure you will see a host of new stuff also.. The GSXR1000 has been mopping up for three years and they keep improving it.

The new Suzuki is supposed to have the new lightweight high HP
engine that was built for the new 450 bike. If so it will look more like th YFZ yamaha engine and come in at about 350lbs.

IMO revease is for panzys

the only quad that had revease that ive ever ridden and used, is my honda recon, and the only reason for that is because i use it for work, out on the track and even the trail, ive never had a time where i said to my self, "****IN HONDA WHY CANT U HAVE REVEASE" its really not that hard to whip a 180 or pick the front end up.:o

sorry im just tired of hearing people ***** about revease, ITS NOT NEEDED on a SPORT ATV. U guys talk about saving weight and being heavier and what not, yet ur all for adding revease which adds weight. i dont get it

I believe on a sport atv reverse is needed, on a racing atv no its not needed. I'm sure most of us can pick the front end up on a quad and turn it around, but its much simpler and faster to just push a button and back it up, just my opinion.
