does anyone have any pictures of the welds that you need to grind? Are there any gaskets in there that you will have to replace if you take the headers off? I did a search but didn't see anything... thanks..

If you pull of the head pipe you can see the weld easily. There are crush gaskets you might want to replace. If you reuse them they might leak.

they will probibly be stuck to the head, you'll have to get a screwdriver to pry them out. just be careful poking around in there

cool... thanks for the pics... I am working on mine right now... but it is taking me forever because I have the cordless dremel tool and the battery keeps dying on me... :( I can see this is going to be a loooooooooong process...

I used a pneumatic die grinder on mine with a wimpy air compressor. It took a bit of time but i'm sure the cordless ones will take longer.

Don't expect any big gains from doing this;)

In the first pic just inside the opening of the header opening there is a littlt ridge or bump. I ground it till it was nearly flush with the innner diameter of the actual header tubing.

The bead of weld that is ground is only about 1/4" wide at most. I really don't think much is gained from doing this. I wouold really like to hear from the pro builders about this.

I'm thinking it might a waste of time. Unless it's for a specific purpose.
