i bought my oldest son a new quad. an e-ton 90 viper. im gonna pick it up at the gncc banquet tonight and i was thinking of a way to surprise him. i had planned on taking a pic of it at the banquet and showing him the picture in a thread with teh title of " cody, go look in the trailer or something.

yall have any better ideas?

i've always dreamed that maybe i'd wake up one day and my dad will have left a sticky note beside the pillow that i was sleeping on. And it would say "Go to the Garage for a suprise" or something like that. But thats never happend for me :( .

sounds like a good idea. When I was 10, my dad surprised me with my first quad on x-mas. He wrapped up a very large box, filled it with stuff for weight... then I finally found a smaller box inside with a quad key and a little note saying to go outside. At first when I saw "Yamaha" I thought it would be a snowmobile... I was very surprised to a quad. :D

lol...my biggest surprise gift came when i was 14. i used to have my dad drop me off on friday evenings at the river with a beat up old 12 foot aluminum boat and a 5 horse evinrude:p

so one weekend i wake up and my boat is gone and there is a new 16 foot fisher in its place:eek: at first i was like...WTF happened to my boat:grr: then i walked ever closer to what i thought was someone else's boat and thats when i saw a note taped to the steering wheel. i was shocked:p thats about the only time anyone has ever surprised me but it was a big one:D

What a suprise that will be. Or you could do it like put it in the shed or garage and just ask him to go get you something out of it. That way he walks in thinking hes getting something for you and sees that sitting there

well i told him we were taking his LT80 to jeff so he can fix it. i thought about also parking it right outside his window so in the morning when he wakes up he would see it. he spends a few minutes every morning when he wakes up watching the birds at his feeder so that would shock him:p

I like Tommy's idea.....

Everyday when i come home from school the first thing i do is get my quad out and take it for a spin. I've always wanted to come home from school and see a new one in the garage.

putting it outside his window sounds like an awsome idea pappy,

I can remeber when me and my dad when to pic up my quad. I kept on asking him where we were gonig and he said we were going to get some wood for a job we were gonig to do that after noon. The he asks me if I wanted to go to this dealer ship that was close by and I say ok. So we went inside and my dad starts talking to this guy and he tells my dad to take the truck around back and that they'll load it up so we go around the back of the shop and theres a bayou220 just sitting there all warmed up. So theres my great story sorry to bore you all haha

thanks Jeff. I love the quad. As far as looks go, the front bumper is sweet. I also like the front fenders. Its a heck of alot faster than the 80. I like the full suspension. The seat height is better for me. It turns better than the 80 too. Dad says we can BLING it up!! The brakes are so much better too. Thank you so much, I really love it.I'll thank you in person on the podium.

Looks like those a-arms need a new PC job on them. SO how you like it so far Ken? Is it fassssss?

Pappy
01-11-2004, 02:20 PM
well it needs more work then i thought. its fast and the suspension is AWESOME. the powdercoating was wore away on the a arms...thats normal if you ride any amount of time. the silencer needs to be buried and a new one installed and possibly a new pipe all together. the fullbore wouldnt mount fer chit on the LRD frame and ive narrowed that down to the seat posts on the frame being about 1/4 inch too short. the clutch feels good but the cable or perch is shot. the side cases arent pretty and all the small parts need loving:p the weather could be the reason it feels a bit sluggish off idle so ill inspect the reeds etc.

plans are to chrome the a arms, re-pc everything thats needed....replace the pipe, bumper, grab bar and skid plates. install a burgard polished removable clutch cover and stator cover. inspect everything and then just ride it. if i can finish getting caught up on work ill have it done in a month or so.
