I had a few questions.(1) What do you set the piston to wall clearence at? (2) do you gap your rings if so what is the measure ment? (3) what is your breakin procedure. This is on a 416ex I am going to build myself and need the info for the machine shop. Thanks

All of that information will come with your piston. Youl bring that info and your piston to the machinist. Buy your stuff from http://www.cdracingonline.com/
Without Colbys assistance I wouldnt have been able to put my 416 together.

If I were you I would take the machinist the piston so he could bore it, and then file fit your rings and assemble it yourself. Then you know that everything is exact.

i am going to take the piston to him. some people use a smaller piston to wall clearence then others. and ring gap but if the ring gap is to small you but a ring when it expands and say bye bye to your piston land. i was just wondering his specs.

If you file fit it to the proper specs you will have no problems. I always file fit all of car engine and sport bike engines & I have never had any problems. What is a piston land? Are you reffering to a ring land?

We run .002 with Wiseco and .0025 with JE (measured 1/2" down
from pin) and .014 top, .012 second, .014 oil rail endgaps with good success!

Make sure that your machinist hones the bottom of the sleeve
extra to get the same size on the sleeve. The sleeve is thin and will not hone as quickly!
