valve guides

will bad valve guide cause a 400ex to smoke when it is first started. had new seals put in about 6 months ago. it smokes after it has sit a while and you start it. after it runs a few minutes it quits smokig. this is a race only quad and it has been aout a year and a half since the head was rebuilt.

If there is too much play between the valve & the guide it will still suck oil into the combustion chamber, even with new seals.
