no your limits that way you don't end up killing yourself. i no someone that was trying to get me to jump a 80 ft stepup table top thing, and i haven't been riding all that long. i think he just wants me to eat ****.

You should get up off the seat a little in a crouch position. I like to preload the shocks right as I go off to get a little more air. Also, don't let off the gas at the top otherwise you will nose dive. Just keep the throttle on and always try to land on your rear tires first!

My advice is not to preload until you are comfortable jumping. Goose the gas at the lip of the jump to keep your front end up. If you keep your front end up, even if you go to far you can always bring it down by hitting your rear brake.

this is a pretty crappy pic, but hey, its all fun and games!:D

just keep a steady throttle all the way up the jump, so you dont nose dive and dont preload right away just feel it out

whats preload?

Narly R

Of all people even Creech dont know!!!!:o :p

It is pretty much where you compress the suspention by pushing down as you go up a lip of a jump. Gives you extra hight.

hint to ensure safe mid air adjustment when using back brake to bring front down DO NOT FORGET TO PULL IN THE CLUTCH! a stalled quad will fall very fast and the landing will not be so smooth

Not second guessing you, but could explain why you don't lean back...seems to me I've always heard the opposite.

Ok so, hitting the back brake in the air pushes the nose down, hitting the throttle pulls the nose up...correct?

What does hitting the front brake do? Anything?

Can you go on more about preload?

and can stoshocks preload?

preload will make your quad jump high used for step up for far jumps... depending...
to preload u need good timing, the shock will absorb the take off u dont want it to so if u kind of hop on the quad without taking your feet off and mash the shocks down with all your leg strength at the right time then on the rebound the shocks will kind of push u off the jump... stock shocks work very well but hope to make a good landing because they are most likely going to bottom out if u preload off a big enough jump or jump any big jump period....
aftermarket shocks with good rebound control man not work as well but will still help a lot...
but be aware preloading is potentialy dangerous say when you come off a jump your quad twists to one side preloading will add to the twist and make it worse, be aware of the jump and always keep your front tires facing the way u want to go well thats about all i can think of for advice have fun and be careful

like he said... if you want to learn how to jump good, start small. try starting on a tabletop, that way you can get use to what speed to hit the jump at in order to clear it and you dont have to worry about doing and endo right into the landing. then start hitting doubles and once your comfortable with those, you can go bigger... but don't kill yourself

Hey Whats up I also live in brentwood who is this but as far as jumping goes dependeing on the jump just keep a steady throttle and near the top goose it but not much just so the front end doesnt dip down and if you hit it to hard depending how big the jump tap the back brakes like in the picture belowhttp://images.cardomain.com/member_images/9/web/513000-513999/513910_9_full.jpg

about the brake thing i do not beleive stopping the front wheels will do anything but the rear wheels are a rotational force thus by speeding them up they will tilt the front up and the stop them the front goes down. just remember that if you are hitting the rear brake to pull the clutch

Obviously you never have hit your front brakes in the air....they are more effective than the rear brakes. And you dont have to clutch it. The only thing you got to remember is dont hold the front brakes, nosediving is no fun:D

no i never hit the fronts in the air. sorry for the misinformation. and i was saying pull the clutch so the motor doesnt stall

yo i did that i hit a jump and hit the rear brakes without pullin the clutch in. and i pressed my starter button in mid air and it started ..it was scary but phat

yea it sucks when you stall. really sucks on a bike with kick start

05-21-2004, 11:20 AM
i only hit small jumps and i have no time to really manuever my quad in the air. how easy is it to manuever a quad in the air?im a start hitting bigger ones once i get better shocks

I use the front brakes to level out the quad in mid air, I seem to get a better and quicker responce, but I have always been more comfortable using my front brakes instead of my rears. Plus there is no chance of killing the quad when using the front brakes.

AZblaster44

Try to land on all 4 tires at the same time, or the rears slightly before... and land on the gas it is quicker and smoother

ive never used my front brakes before. im always afriad of my brake pads locking up and not coming back apart. i dunt know why...hmm weird...but the backs are prob just the same as front...but stalling is another

i gotta try itt when i get it back
