stock is 96 i believe. removing links is a pain:p
You shouldn't have to specify how many links when you buy a chain. At least when I order one i just say it's for a 400ex.

what kind of chain would be the best?
ive have had no problems with the stock chain so i would go back to that.
Removing links with the Motion Pro type breaker is a piece of cake:) I bought mine close to twenty years ago, used once or twice when I first got it then it sat around until about a year ago:p Still works!:D

The chain breaker like joex is talking about is the way to go. I did not have one so I used my little 4" grinder and ginded the nub down off the link and she pops right apart.

was it gieson's or douglas & frye? if you went to gieson's then you should know better, they dont have a clue. the stock chains are alright, but dont you have to take the swingarm off to put another one on since they are link-less (i cant remember the technical name for a chain w/o a master link). i guess thats not too big of a deal. i just bought a D.I.D. 520 x-ring chain from "atvracer11" for $45, i hope this one lasts me a while. if you really need it, i could sell it to ya for $45 and ill just buy a good stock chain.
BTW: where do you race? also, where do you ride? we are thinkin of taking a trip to the badlands or attica, IN this summer to go ridin, hopefully that all works out.
