ok here goes the story.... i bought the quad on my 18 birthday (first week of may) first ride on it..... the top end blows on me and its down for 4 months

i get it running and get to ride it maybe 20 times and then somehow all the gear oil dissappeared in one ride and burned up my clutch.... it was down for another month

i got to ride it once and then now it hits the rev limiter halfway through the throttle.....

sooooo im sorta gettin a bit fed up with this quad always going down on me....ive gotten to ride the thing maybe 25 times.... a quad shouldnt break or fug up as bad as this one does with that little ride time on it...and yes i do all the proper maintenance on it.... id watch your dale closely..... bc mine has given my nothing but problems

Nothing they fit good heavy duty and everything but there heavy, collect mud and if you do happen to bend an arm there cheap enough to replace. I just think my money would have been better spent elsewhere.

For 70 somethin' dollars it should. Oh well, CR250 perches and MSR perches are better. I miss the super easy pull of RTC tho.

Toadz400
01-07-2004, 08:58 PM
So I shouldn't think about getting RTC? My Pep clutch perch is starting to wear down so I was thinking about getting RTC....but I guess I'll get a CR250 perch and lever from the dealership...all I know is that the CR125 lever pulls like a dream, so I expect the saem from the 250.

My worst "mod" was getting DG nerfs for my banshee...I had to cut them and bend them to make them fit...Also probably a boost bottle for the banshee...ended up taking it off anyway after getting it rebuilt because for some reason it was causing it to backfire:confused:

MSR Raptor clutch perch...

First it frayed my stock clutch cable, and a motion pro one. (I am pretty sure I had it adjusted right too).
And I had a VERY SMALL roll on the side and it somehow broke that POS.:cuss:

Well, I made some homemade air scoops for my 400 about a year ago. I was impressed with myself because they looked pretty good....until I bolted them up...then, not so good, lol!

They were made out of aluminum and I did it all from a drawing on the sheet press, who the heck knows if they really worked.

They are for sale by the way if anyone wants them...dirt cheap!:D

-Laeger Swingarm (the houseing for the carrier cracked)
-Works Rear Shock (Blew out on about the 6th ride and flipped me)
-Works front shocks
-Durablue axle instead of Lonestar
-MSR clutch lever

I have it all fixed now...Got a new Laeger swingarm that they replaced very cheap...Got a raptor rear shock...Got a full 400ex +2+1 front end with TCS shocks...Lonestar +4 axle...and all new clutch/brake levers

I have never seen a K&N that did not let too much dirt thru. That is why I will only run 1 on a 2 stroke. 2 stroke top ends need replaced frequently anyway so what can a little dirt hurt???

The biggest waste of $$ mods on my R were DG bumper and grab bar. I did not put them on it, but the guy who did should have saved the $$ and not put anything on it especialy since he never rode it after his rebuild before I purchased it. The grab bar broke off the 1st time it touched the ground. The bumper is cracked in several places and has never hit anything more than the trailer wall while being hauled from place to place.

Reed spacer was a waste of $$ also.
Other than that all mods I have done were great IMO.

RAD RACING swing arm gaurd...sucked, started hiting my brake rotor and chain after the first time i hit something with it, i mean it might of saved me from that one hit but since ive taken it off ive took much harder hits and with no damage. on the 300ex however: the msr clutch lever and pearch perodically broke, usually before a planned ride, and after 2 months os use my smith grips just ripped off, no roll or nothin.

It offers very little protection from mud/water. It had an outerwears for a lid cover that was velcro'd on. It looked great but was worthless for trail riding - I would just suck water/mud right through the outerwears, through the K&N filter and into my carb. It was manufactured by graydon-proline. If you ride in dunes or extremely dry conditions it would be fine....

I switched to an almost completely stock airbox, WBros. foam filter with a half length snorkle & an EHS modified lid and it works sooooo much better and I don't think I lost any airflow at all...

Mine was 26inch blackwaters for the foreman well i didn't buy them they came with the quad. BUt they are one of the worst tires on the market. I would take stock ove rthem any day ! Also my dg skid plate was the worst thing i bought for my z. The thing made my quad sit lower, then i would hit off of all the rocks and everything, then the bots would come undone and it almost fell off, it was relly heavy, and bent easy. THat was $110 wasted!!! Then after that my dad made me a homemade one that is way better than the dg and i got it for free dang i wisg i would have did that in the first place.

Im going to have to say my worst decision ever was buying a YAMAHA Craptor. 3 trannys, 2 topends, 3 waterpumps, 5 starter clutches 2 bearing carriers and my stock exhaust rusted in half even though i cleaned it after every ride. worst products i ever bought is anything DG, Renthal sprockets are garbage, and regular 190 wheels (douglas and ITP) are weaker than stock. Uhh what else..... Polaris in general, graydon proline makes garbage, CT racing makes slow motors, My mp 250cc motor outran a ct 330r. I think thats about it.
