Basically what i have is a brand new powdercoating setup from Eastwood. None of this has ever been used. The box was opened, but i never hooked anything up. The stuff i am selling is:
7oz. container of metal wash
Original Hotcoat powdercoating gun
Hotcoat original "pumpless" powder hopper
additional 2lb hopper
hotcoat gun static tubes (3)
Hotcoat highperformance deflector
Hotcoat fluidizing attachment
Hotcoat gun deflector
Disposable In line air filter
Roll of 1" high temp fiberglass tape
5 pack of high temp masking tape
2lbs. mirror black powder
8oz. of:
full clear closs powder
bright red
gloss white
bright yellow
ford light blue
and dark green

Ill ship it all for $360. I paid 380 + shipping and i also saved 10% so i figuered it would have all been well over $400. So it is alot cheaper then buying it new. Like i said, everything is brand new, never used, and the box was only open to look at the stuff. Get back to me of interested. Thanks alot!

What else do you need in order to complete the powdercoating?

will a regular household oven work???

a household oven would work if you never wanted to eat out of it again

How much does it cost then for a powdercoating oven?

what i was going to do was go buy a cheap oven at a local used appliance shop. U can get them anywhere from $100-600. Anything that will get up to 350-375 would work. But thats really all that is needed to do a basic PCing setup. You can get a collecting booth or a porfessional oven, but for doing things like a-arms, swingarms, pegs, etc. ya know the little things, you can get away with using the basics just fine.

you should also mention you cannot use a gas oven (From what i have been told at least)

yes, good point and thank you very much. You definately want to use an electric oven. From what i am told a gas ovens heat is to inconsistent and sometimes will not let the powder cure in certain spots. resulting in an uneven coat. But i am no powder coating expert, but i have been looking into it, so i might be able to answer some questions if you have them. But again thanks X1992!

Stay away from gas kitchen ovens, But most big professional pc ovens are gas.
Do you want to aprt any of it out? I could use the metal wash and tape.

those infared lamps? their pretty pricey but i hear their worth every penny. dont matter about what size part you have. you just move the lamp around the part.

the lamps dont cure the powder to the proper temp. i was sent one to test and its chit. i know of 2 poor fellas that did thier own frames with that system and both spent all night moving the lamp and the pc was undercured and chipped:(

the kit extreme has for sale is very good for small parts. you will need tools and equipment to prep the metal and a cheap second hand oven will do a great job at curing the parts:)

good selling extreme:cool:

what would you suggest to cure a frame in pappy?

Pappy
01-09-2004, 11:59 AM
to do a frame you will need an oven capable of fitting the frame....and curing it to proper temp. which with most powders would be 350 to 400 degree's. (thats part temp not oven temp)

if ya get into hobby stuff the second hand house oven is the simplest route to take. a commercial oven big enough for frames will run ya $15,000.

Thanks Hiller for looking out for me..., but I have the pro series gun and that small one.

Pappy is right, the commercial ovens are not cheap. I built my frame oven for around $1,000. It runs on 4 Mr Heater 250,000 BTU triple infrared heaters. These run around $120/each. The oven was built on heavy duty casters so I can roll it around. It is 5 ft high, six feet wide, and 3 feet deep.
