I pulled my plug out today it it was pretty black, i jsut got a enw edelbrock and hav eonyl riding it once, i ahvent replaced my plug in a long time so it couldnt be from my edelbrock, mostlikly it was from the old jetting that was ran probably 6 months with that plug, i dont think the edelbrock would make that much carbon and not bogg. Also i noticed when i first strated it, it blew out black smoke, i am thinkign this is from the carbon ont he spark arrestor from the old carb as well becase after riding a while it wasnt smoking anymore.

Reading that post hurt my head. Try a new plug. Warm the bike up, go through all the gears WOT. Then pull the clutch coast to a stop shut off the bike, and check the color of the plug.

If its black smokin theres more of a chance your running a lil to rich than the possibility of it being a dirty spark arrestor...the leaner the meaner
