Fatboy 4 jetting queston.

Alright the fatboy 4 is working good and it runs great everywhere in the throttle except when i get to WOT it like will sputter and bog and sputer some more and it wont run right again till I come back down a tad on the throttle. Could it maybe be my pilot jet or maybe my air screw or somthing. It just has to be somthing small.:confused:

Do you think you are hitting the rev limmiter quicker, or is it starting to act up before you rpm's get that high?

I would lean out the main jet. I have a duncan 440 national, with lrd exhaust, 39 mm fcr. I had my main jet at 170 and when I pinned the gas it would burp, sputter, and be crap until I lean it out. I had it dynoed and they put in a 160 main jet.

I dont know it seemed like it ran worse when i ran anything under the 168 main i have in. It seems to run pretty good except when I have it pinned. It almost seems like it is not getting gas its wierd. it like gets spurts of running good and then it bogs in between. Its not hitting the rev limiter.

any ideas? maybe i am still a bit to lean maybe i should try 170 main?

what are all of your mods done to the bike? i would make sure you have your clamps tightened all the way down that hold the carb on. also, make sure it isn't leaking where the headers come out of the head and also where your silencer meets the header. are you getting any type of spark plug reading?

I would run it & check the plug to give you an idea because if not it's like you are shooting in the dark. Also check your carb for dirt particals. They could be clogging your main jet.
