I think I'm ready to mod the XBOX has anyone done this here yet? I think the newest version only has one solder point (don't think I trust my soldering skills beyond one) Just wondering if you ran into any issues.

on a real low level term you put in a "mod chip" which will allow you to play copied games. this is only 1 aspect of what you can do to it.

They have the "mod chips" for PS2 also. MotoX, I'm not sure, but the way I was explained it was that there is coding on an authentic game CD that will allow it to be played on a "stock" game system. When you make a copy of the CD, that code isn't there. When you install the "mod chip", this allows your system to play the copied (codeless) version.

if you do use that chip when you try to play online it will block you... and i believe (according to tech tvs show screen savers) it is illegal to do that mod.. which sounds stupid to me though

The chip comes with an on off switch and the only real issue with XBOX live is if you put in a bigger hard drive you have to get one that can be "locked" which can be done through DOS
