http://www.rriders.com/trx250r_forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1971 I've got about 50 per tire. Those studsd he has are for icey trail riding and are ment to last awhile. Mine are for ice ONLY, otherwise they will last like no time. but they are made for ice racing;) thanks-darren

I based the # of studs I put in them by watching the raptor that won the ice races last year, he said didn't want to put too many in or they wouldnt penetrate the ice good enough, plus at 60 mph you dont want too much extra"awesome traction" or your going to loose some top end speed. He had like 35 in and won the open class.-darren

before I had my holeshots, I studded the old duro tires I had with roofing screws. I put 80 per tire in the rear, but I didn't have enough tread to do the fronts. Worked great for about a week, than they started coming out, and my tires went flat.......Thankfuly I got them holeshots:)

I use purpose-built ice screws. When you get them studded right, it hooks up better than on dirt.

Last year I did that also, but I used a total of 750 screws. it worked pretty well.-darren
