How can aftermarket companies make parts for a machine that isn't even available at the dealers? I assume that Honda gave a few prototypes to those companies? Like the pictures in last months issue of Dirt Wheels, a new 450R all decked out in aftermarket goodies? Or all kinds of pipes and silencers availabe? I realize some parts are interchangeable, such as with a 400EX. Just curious.

They guess on where the mounting points will be according to a picture that Honda sends to the aftermarket. That's why there's a delay now. Seems that the early prototype 450R used different exhaust can mounts so everyone has to change:eek2:

Don't any of you remember the picture of the 450R that was out before the 10th of September, it had the plastic half off the left front, the quad had elka shocks, roll design steering stem, and nerfs that I could see. I have the pic somewhere on my computer, if I can find it I will try to post.
The 450R has been passed around like a slutty bar whore to all the aftermarket companies, months before any of us actually saw it.
