View Full Version : harescramble series in nj

ive have been working with a organization(sp?) who is VERY intrested in, and has already started putting together a 7-10 race harescramble series in the NJ and possibly PA(pocono's) area.
one concern they have is rider turn out.
this is probably going to be a quad only series that will not interfer with any district 6 races.

i know there are alot of xc riders in the nj...pa area, what do you guys think of this idea???

who would be intrested in running this series????
there will be pionts awarded at the races and will have an end of season awards banquit as well with trophys and stuff.

what do you think????

lou, i would go becuase jersey races would be closer to me than district 6's. you would get alot fo the district 6 guys there. you need to get to a district 6 event, make a big sign, and put it at the sign up booth!!!!!!!! thats how youll get everyone to show.

like i said the pramotor(sp?) has a few sites locked already but is looking for some more. possible thinking of hitting a few places twice if they can get enough.

ja, you do alot of racing in district 6 u think we will get alot of guys coming over into nj for these races.

Pm me if you have any suggestions.that goes for anyone who has any ideas.

id really like to see this thing take off, everyone is always complaining about not having places to ride in nj and now there is a chance for a whole race series.

thanks mike, thats cool.
i would think that you still keep in contact with some other pro's like chris borich and matt smiley, it would be great if you could pass the word on to all of those local racers.have pro's there like you guys would help the turn out a great deal.alot of people would come just to see you guys rip it up.

don't just go with central jersey and sand try to get some north west n.j. and different terrains. plus that will attract more people from different areas. if you get somewhere on route 23 i know that there is alot of people up there that ride

wellits not that easy we have to get permission to use land, and theres permits and insurance issues too.
dont worry i want as many locations as we can too.

Hey Guys!

Lou and I are moving along with great locations and definate race dates...

We know we can make this work, Lets ban together and see how big we can get this list. So tell all who may want to race in a more local event. We will have more info soon. We don't want to leave any one out. This is the fastest way to get the information out to you when it's time.

it is an UNWRITTEN rule and common sense.... u must first finish top 3 in the B class for the year or win 3 events in a row to move to A class.

A kid got hurt bad tryin to run A at a Fall harescramble....

the District never monitored this until they decided to combine the classes......

THE REASON i feel that riders need to earn there way into the A class locally is this.... When we line up for that first turn, I look down the line and see Smiley, Borich,Herts Bros. Racing, Wes Stone, etc.etc.etc. It does not make me the slightest bit nervous to go from 1-5th gear and then bang wheels into the woods for position, because i know that it'll be somewhat controlled.

Last year one race as nearly 20 of us slowed form 4th and 5th gear to make the left hander into the woods, this kid who onlt had 1 atempt at A class the week before and crashed.... Anyway, this kid hit the pack of 20 5th gear pinned, as we were all in position to make the left. It was like he had no idea where the turn was!!!!!!!!

Anyhow!!!! Don't run A till u got some race experience, no matter how fast u are!!!!
