Slick question

I would like to build a kicker ramp this spring.If using wood instead of metal for the ramp surface,does it need to be painted with anything special to keep it from becoming to slick ?I noticed in the H6 vid someone was approachinh the jump and suddenly veared off of it at the face as if he had just blurrped the gas and it was slick.

My dad has this "Seal Coating" company, it is where they put a layer of coating over the pavement. I think i might spray some of that on a ramp if we make one. You can add sand to it and stuff, should work pretty well.

On my rev 3 we used to use painted plywood and it worked fine. But now that winters here me and Juggalo are going to put sheet metal and expanded mesh on it.
