valve adjustment

does anyone know if a timing key will affect the way I adjust the valves. because with the key the marks don't line up. any advise:confused:

yes, the key will affect your timing. so, when you line up your T on the flywheel it won't be exactly top dead center. i hear the easiest way to tell is to use a skrewdriver or something else and stick it down your spark plug hole to find top dead center. or, you could take the sparks key out and put the stock one back in to adjust the valves, it would just be more work.

No it won't change anything. Yes TDC will be slightly off but it doesn't matter. As long as the valves have slack in them you are safe to adjust them.
