how do boots fit?

sorry for the dumb question. im looking to buy a set of boots, how do they fit? do they usually run large or small? do i want them tight or loose? or is it a preference thing? i usually wear 11-12 in most every thing.
im looking at the oneal atv boot pg.85 of the newest rocky mtn book. i know there are better ones out there, but these fit my budget buch better.

i always order my boots like 1 size bigger. at 15 years old im still growing and i cant keep buying boots evry 6 months:o

i dont think the closest dealer even has boots, i would have to drive to kansas city(2+ hrs) to try any on.

i normally buy them 2 or 3 sizes above what i need, just incase its cold and i put on some whool socks, my feet aren't smashed
