View Full Version : 250r front shocks fit on 400ex?

will they? im thinking about buying these aftermarket 250r shocks but im not sure if they will fit

if i have to replace any bushings is it hard to?

if i do deside to buy these Im going to revalve because there not at my weight :)

Im pretty sure the only difference in the 2 shocks (demension wise) is like 1/4" short than the 400ex shocks. Also the bushings are the same.

it works im using them right now i have done it with my elka's and works only thing thats a B*tch is the a arms but they can work if done right witht he arms but shocks yes forsure i like 250r shocks more then the ones i got valved and made for a 400ex to tell u the truth

I used a loaner set off of a friend's 250r last season for about a month when mine were in for a repair. They worked fine for me.:cool:

With aftermarket shocks front and rear most companies sell the same exact shocks as 400EX and 250R.

Stock front shocks the 400EX had 1/2" more travel than the stock 250R shocks, and were around 1/4" longer.

A stock rear 86 R shock can not be beat when properly valved. With the 86 you could remove the internal bumper to get longer travel. Then when properly valved you have more travel than any aftermarket rear shock, and have much less $$ in it. You could not do that with the 87-89 though.
