Does anybody have a swingarm bolt w/ a grease zerk? If so, how is that done? Is it a stock bolt drilled and tapped? What's it made of?

why would you put a grease zerk into the bolt? if you mean the carrier or whatever year i think you just put one at each end.

He's talking about the pivot bolt.

Sounds like pairanutz has a nice set up.:)

I believe I heard Jeff at the Quadshop say he has one for sale.

I have one and yes it is THE setup to have. Works great and you don't have to worry about the bolt ever siezing up again. A stock bolt is used so it's not really that expensive.

If your quad is over a year old, I HIGHLY suggest you pull the bolt out and do this or atleast grease it. If you can get it out...:eek2:

Yup took mine out last weekend, just greased though will do the retro next time. 1 1/2 years old slid out easily but you could see where it was starting to corrode a bit.
Rico any problems with the zerk ever breaking off from hitting it? Like with your boots,

Nope, it's tucket away next to the spring for the rear brake pedal.

my 85atc250r has one, I was very suprised when I restored the bike and found a pivot bolt that wasn't stuck. the one on my 250r 4 wheeler was after a year of riding. I don't know how they did it, but I will be doing that to my next 250r

Look towards the mid-bottem of pg 1, good pick of the modified swinger bolt,if you have a welder and a drill you can do your own...., or call TQS or C&D, good luck w/ it, worth much more than the headache of a stuck swinger bolt

Could the pictures be any bigger....

You dont' need a welder to do it, just a drill with a very small bit. Cost of one can't be more than $40, but it is money well spent..:macho

Sorry dude...they aint my pics:rolleyes: ,just a link so they could see it

I got chit-load of zerks...but none that big to fit the bolt,I wasn't aware they'd hold if just tapped, suppose that is better if it ever broke........

I did something like this also.Works great and saves you from a big headache from tearing bearings up.Why don't the manufactures do anything like this?
