tonight i was trying to remove a friends flywheel and we couldn't get the bolt that holds it on to turn. we pulled off the side case and then we tried to loosen that bolt in the center, but we couldn't get it to turn for nothing. is it standard thread or reverse? we put a wrench it and then a socket on the bolt and cranked and cranked, both ways, but nothing. any ideas. thanks

On my 300ex you turn the bolt counterclockwise to remove it. An impact wrench works best, but if you have a ratchet on it you might be able to rap on the handle with a hammer to knock it loose. The bolt is tightened to about 80 or so ft-lbs so it is going to be tight.

It`s regalor treads.
But you will need a impact to get it out the torque spec is 94ft/pd so it`s really tight. ones you get the bolt out you will need the flywheel puller ( just a big bolt ) to take the flywheel of and you need a impact for that to.
