So budget wise what should a person think about in costs?
Obviously entry fees and lodging. a break down of a typical out of town race would open up a lot of eyes here.

I think it depends on how many things you break each race.

It's according to if you are pulling a big trailer and getting horrible gas millage. At 8 mpg I average $200 a race in gas. $20 gas for quad and generator. $10 to get in $40 to race. I stay at the track so add $100+ for hotel if you plan on doing that. and then you have food! I usually bring food with me.

If you plan a race costing about $400 you should be safe if you want to budget things out.

This is not counting anything you tear up on your quad. I have been anywhere from $30 or $40 to about 2 grand in the that department!

That right, I spent from $250-400 a race depending on how far away they were. I spent the nights in the race trailer.

maybe more if i can catch a ride. my 8 yr old son is starting his career in the mini class after the quad races so we will be doing more gncc's and fewer wnyoa serie races. and i would like to get enough races in to maybe finish in the top 10 in the vet class.

I broke a bone in wrist, just got my cast off. I lost about 40% of my range of motion, and about 50% of my strength. I start physical rehab Fri. :grr:

I'll going to the PA ones this year on my 300. Maybe more next year but it's far for me.

Hey Muff maybe we can car pool to PA. I'm looking into a toy hauler:cool:

:( Well, I guess there will be a little less compitition in the 4 Stroke novice 25-32 class this season. I Won't be racing due to some unexpected financial burdens.:grr: But, I do want to come out with my trusty camera to capture the action and meet ya'll. I'll have the EXRiders shirt on so keep an eye out for me!
May see me at a couple outlaw Harescrambles though as they are not too expensive(closer to home) and Sunday racing is way better in my schedule anyway. Good luck to all the racers still making the races!

Steele creek and The Patriot for me. It'll be my first GNCCs since 97. I'm sure a lot has changed as far as the speed of the riders. Heck, If I do well at Steele Creek, I may race a few more:D
