what size rim for mx?

I was just wondering what the best size rim is for an 18" tire, I've seen alot of 8" rims but I've also seen a few 9" rims out there. I think there was a thread about this awhile back but I cant find it :grr:

I would go with the 8"wheel.

i would say either one. they each have there pros and cons. i know the 8in ones will have a little more give and go(like havin more suspension) when landing, but they dont slide as well as the 9iners. i know theres more but i cant think today. i have both, and actually i do not perfer one over the other. but i usually run the 9in ones cuz i like the tires i have on those rims better:D

I run "18 Tamers on an 8, but I run "18 MXR Holeshots on the stock Honda 9 rim. I am pretty pleased with both, but I prefer drier tracks so I can run the Tamers.

8" for mx and 9" for XC is what i have always heard.
