white bros silencer mod?

on my 400EX I have the white bros silencer and my friend told me to take off the last disk so that the exause comes right out instead of going through the fins. would I be able to do that? and if so would it increase the horse power?

It would then be a straight through exhaust. It would probably give you more top-end while decreasing your torque and low-end power. You will also have to rejet by doing so.

Not always. It may have better low end. My HMF is a straight through design and I feel it has more low end than a white bros.

I hardly used the disks on the 2 disk pipes I had. The disks just take away the power, but its a easy spark arrestor to take on and off. I would get the turn down end they have for them to help keep it a little quieter.

If you run no disc make sure u got back pressure and it usally dont work good unless u have motor work and if u do it will give u some low end power.

Yeah i did that on mine cuz my jetting was a little too fat down low this summer and it made a huge difference, it was louder, but easier than rejetting

My 400ex was allways faster than my friends,I took the end cap off & he beat me......:mad: ..It's back on now!!!

its because u were to lean and ur low end was lost because backpressure loss

Not necessarily. I ran my 60RWHP 727 Raptor on back to back dyno runs(a total of 6 runs, 3 with and 3 without) with and without the 18 dics on my Graydon pipe. The only difference between the runs was the noise. It was noticably quieter with the discs. Horsepower was the same. Also my 416 seems to run the same with or without the 18 discs on the E-series pipe as well.

Maybe running that many disks helps the air get out faster. But With either pipe I had I only had 12 disks so maybe that makes the diffrence.
