prolly around 57 i doubt you'll get that much from an airfilter and a pipe you'll get about 4 or 5 mph

My brother- in- law has a 500 sportsman HO and when we rip down the street his spedometer says between 55-57. I pass him easy and within a minute I'm gone! I would say that top speed for a 400 is between 64-66 MPH.

12-31-2003, 12:15 PM
me trailtech speedometer has said iv'e done 71 on this straightaway road

i think that chart is a little off.....with my 14t front sprocket on my 400ex, it feels like i'm probably doing 55-60 at the most. and if a 400ex does 64 or w/e according to the chart, i think my banshee goes faster than 73.

400ex-apporx. 68mph
z400-approx. 69mph
craptor-approx. 73mph

i doubt that the 400ex would only go 64 stock. 68 sounds closer. Cause think about it, its got higher gearing than a z, and the same rev limiter. Heck its got higher gearing than a raptor too, w/ the same rev limiter. im guessin 73-75 for a raptor, 69-70 z400 68-69 400ex

On a stock 400ex on gps was 69, z400 was 70, i had my first 440 at 87ish and my new motor was clocked at 103 on a 1/2 mile flattrack last year... now its rebuilt w/ even more power, should be interesting...

Mines faster than Ricos so I'll say around 110mph or so depends if I'm in 4th or 5th gear.

mine did some where between 63-65...... i followed behind my moms car before and thats how fast she was going was 65, but i also wasnt along side her. That was when the only mod i had was maxxis razr tires.

And my friend has a stock 300ex and another a stock blaster and when they go down pavement where talkin the diffrance of like maybe a 1 or 2 mph

my 250ex goes faster than 47. i rode besides dads nova, he said it was right at 52. i dont know how fast the pred. goes but i rode my neighbors when he got it for x-mas & its way faster than the 250 :D these other guys on my street have three Z400's. one KFX 400, & one shee. the pred & the KFX dragged down the street. the pred was out in front the hole way.

I remeber when Dirt Wheels did the comparison in a sport quad shootout. I remeber the blaster did 47mph and the 300ex did 52mph. I cannot quote an accurate warrior trap speed, but it was a few more than the 300ex. The mojave 250 was between the blaster and 300ex, also...no accurate mph for that, just blaster and 300ex. Someone could go diggin in the mag collection and find it before I can, but I'll get it. I think thoughts of a honda four stroke quad topping 60mph is a bit ridiculous in stock gearing. With one size upgrade in tire, or one sprocket throws the calculations off.

i hate to say this but some of you arnt to smart i got a buddy of mine to clock my bone stock 300ex and i got 62 mph. i know for a fact that a stock 400ex dose about 67mph and a craptor dose 72 a z 400 dose like 68 mph and a warrior dose like 64 mph i would think at most cause a 400ex kills one a blaster dosnt do more than 56. a 250ex dose like 52. if you think that your 300 only gose 56 then maybe you need to shift out of 4th gear

my brother clocked me in his car we were doing 70

Why does it matter how fast a quad is??

They all go fast enough to kill you so respect them..:blah:

To me, top speed doesn't matter, what matters is how fast you get to that top speed :blah:

I agree with you on the speeds for a 400ex, but saying it because of sprocket gearing is irrelevant. Just because they have the same sprocket gearing, the transmission gear ratio's are completely different.
