I am going to a Drag Racing comp this weekend and I need to know which front sprocket I should run. I have the 416 JE 10:8:1 piston, XR cam, port and polish, Yoshi full system, and jet kit with removed choke. I will be running 20' Trail Claws. The drag races will be 500ft. Should I run the stock gearing or go with a 16t in front?
Thanks

I'd say a 16,,just so you can get a little more top-end and the 416 should work OK with the 16 tooth,,but I'm no drag racer so this isn't from expereince..

Yeah I would got with the 16tfs for sure with your setup, specially with the 500 feet or more drags. I'm sure you'll have more than enough power with your setup!

There are quite a few people telling me to run the 16t up front. I called Terry at Marcums and he said he thinks I should stay with the 15t up front. Now Im confused. What do I do? The pots are starting at $200 so I just have to win!!

try some test runs with both sizes....with the 16 you can slip the clutch a little bit on the start to keep the RRR's up a bit. Are you dragging on sand or street? this makes a big difference too.....

Its a sand drag!
