Actually my wife got it for her birthday, but I'm allowed to ride it also. I can say that it is pretty fast and sounds awesome stock. Check it out.

Congrats, we love ours so much we might be trading the EX off on another one. If you think it is fast and sounds good now put a dual system on it, airbox mods and mess with the clutching a bit and you will be shocked. All I have done to mine is the HMF exhaust with stock jetting and a very mild clutch spring and I spent last weekend simply wipping out piped raptors.

Yeah my neighbor has one, I rode it the other day, it hauls pretty good! I seen a guy at the track on one and he weighed close to 240lbs and it seemed to do pretty good on the track too. They do have a real good sound to them stock! :D

How much louder are the HMF duals? Do you have the quiet baffles in? My 400ex sounded like a kitten until I put a pipe on but this thing has some grunt even with the stock pipe.

I don't have the quiet cores as sound is not that big of a deal up here. My HMFs are loud but I don't think they are that bad, my buddy runs an e-series with no discs or end cap on his Predator and he is louder than me for sure. I think it sounds like a small Harley. Also if you go over to KAWIERIDERS.COM you will be able to get a ton of info on this bike and I think you might be able to find some sound clips of the pipes.

I remember hearing those V-forces with dual hmf pipes tearing up the hill at the Wisp GNCC race. Sounded like a pack of drag cars heading up the mountain. Pretty bad*****!

That is funny, I just had a little kid tell me last weekend that my quads sounded like a dragster.

the vforce is a pretty cool quad. and the dual exhaust set up and clutch mod is all thats needed to keep ya on the tail of damn near anything:p

Yeah, it only takes simple mods to get really going. I have learned a lot about the clutch and the only thing around here I am having trouble with is my buddies Predator.

would you reccomend this quad to someone who is small at 6ft. tall & 140 lbs.? could I control it? or should this quad be left for the bigger boys like ythe ds650s? should I just keep my 400ex for trail riding & fields?

Well, I'm 5'10" but I weigh 200 lbs. It doesn't feel too big for me and my wife likes it and she's quite a bit smaller than me. It definitely feels bigger than a 400ex but not like a utility. It's quite nimble on the trails. The only thing I would be leary of on this quad is big air but if you don't do that then I would say go for it. Before you buy see if you can test ride one somewhere. I was able to do that. You will be surprised at the power it has. Feels like a more stable raptor.

I would say you could ride it. I am 5'9" at 155 and have no problem. My wife also handles it fine as well. Like I said I like it enough that we are probably getting rid of the EX to get another one.

She is pretty happy with it. I love it too. Goes through the snow much better than my 400 with the 18's on the back. :D

In a perfect world I think I would have a v force for trail riding and a yfz or trx450 for the track. The v force is a ton of fun on our trails.

i have had my v-force for a month or so now. it is badass.... the first thing i did was buy the dg v-pro front bumper. The bike is so flat in the front, that if you hit something, the plastic and radiator would be crushed. I also got a recall notice for the belt wear indicator light. anyone else see this? Mine is in the shop now getting it taken care of.

i want to trade my 400ex in for one so bad...im gonna wait untill this spring or summer to sell mine locally & find one used nag it up.....I can't wait

How much does it weigh in stock trim?

Quadfather
02-01-2004, 10:10 AM
Dry weight of a stock V Force is 516 pounds.

DESDAK4
02-01-2004, 11:51 AM
Yeah, she wieghs in at 516 and that turns a lot of people away along with the automatic. I guess thou the less people that buy them the less people can out run me because I love mine. When you get in and do just a couple simple mods this thing flys. When I bought my first one I was not even sure if it would be a good replacement for my 400EX but, it did not take long to trade the EX off also and get another one. All it took was one trip to our riding area and a couple drag races that resulted in the eleminations of some Raptors and Banshees. In other words I think this bike is just a blast and wouldn't trade them for anything out.

QuadFather, Let me know how that CC Performance intake works. I can not decide which one I want to buy. I am getting ready to do almost the same stuff to mine for the trip to ST. Anthony's in June.

DESDAK:

I think I might go ahead and buy the Diamond G intake. He seems to have put a lot more r&d into the develpoment of his, and did not put it into production until it was perfect. It's also cheaper.

What exhaust are you going to put on it?

DESDAK4
02-01-2004, 09:11 PM
I thought the Diamond G intake was over 100 bucks? That is why I was unsure of getting his. I am running the HMF duals on my V and it has awsome power and sound.

The DG intake is $49 you can check it out if you ener a diamondgracing, and then, after that, add a dot com. It is the same as the one for the praire 650

I have not heard anything about that one working. I thought you had to use the carbon fiber one. Well great, looks like I have more research to do.
