Ok I need your input. I am going to get a slip on for XC racing, and I want your thoughts. My buddy has a FMF PC-IV that works well for him. I tried it a few times and like it, but want to get something different. I have a 2000 400EX with no angine work. My airbox lid is off with minor jetting done. Right now I am running a stock modified exhaust. I change my countershaft from 14 too 15 depending on the speed of the track. The one thing I know is that I do not want anything with discs to tune. So the question. What would be best for me. I dont want it real noisy, but i know I will gain some noise.

Thanks for your help

Elka. Mainly the 2 up front. But if you can afford it, get all three.

Yeah your better off buying a denton rebuildable steering damper and a good set of handguards rather than a slip on. But if you must have a slip on I'd get the HMF.

Get a big gun slip on. You'll like the low and mid power it gives you for xc.

Thanks for your input. I looked at the HMF and it looks pretty good, and a good price $209. The web page said that was with a 175 main, does that seem right. It seems too big too me. I think this will be my new slip on. The other things you sugested I plan on doing, but i am waiting on the Arens xc a-arms befor I go shocks.

i just bought my son the HMF and jetted it with the 175m and i removed the airbox lid. i didn't feel a big power gain so i rejetted with a 155m and put the airbox lid back on. the 155 made a big difference in power... the 175 is too rich for a stock motor.
