a few questions

well i mkinda new to this sport...but i bought a 00 400ex slip on wb n k&n filter is all i kno is added to the bike..a few weeks ago
i raced my friends stock 400 on icey roads he has 22inch tires i have 20inch gbc shredders now off the line he took me top end i pulled ahead by a lot..but when im riding it feels like theres not much between moving and the powerband and on the ice or even loose dirt it just races thru the gears without going anywhere..but when we top out im faster by a big difference...can any1 help me to figure out why?

Check your sprocket sizes. Theoretically your friend should take you on the top end speed if the sprockets are stock. On icy roads tires and rider skill will play a major factor.
