my friend has a 300ex bottom end for sale. when he got his 300 he rode it around for ahwhile and decided to change the oil. when he took the drain plug out some of the threads fell out. the rest of the bottom end is fine. you will need maybe some clutches, a starter gear, and some case cover bolts. he wants $150 plus shipping. we can check into shipping if interested. if u have any questions pm Beak7707.

i was told a machine shop could weld a new tab in there and then u could re thread it. if u didnt want to do that then the case could be replaced. we had to use the top end for another 300.

Not to bust anyone's bubble but your probably going to have to replace the left center case for that stripped out drain hole. Had the exact same thing happen to me where the threads stripped out and broke off part of the casting where the crush washer seats. I had the casting rewelded, then filed it flat for the crush washer and installed a helicoil kit to fix the threads. Only problem is when you weld on the case right next to the gasket it causes the case to warp. Mine leaks between the cases now so I had to smear some rtv sealant on there to keep it from leaking out beside the gasket, still leaks a little though. If you can live with an oil leak than that's alright. Oh, it's also about $70 dollars for a metric thread repair kit and about $30 to reweld the casting. Probably better off replacing the center case.
