big gun exhaust owners

i pulled the packing out of my race series muffler a few weeks ago and im ready to pack it, but i forget witch way the race core points... does the fat end point twoards the motor or the end cap. thats how i rember it,but its been alittle while.

If it's tapered, cant you just look at the end cap and see which end of the race core fits in that. Then the otehr end must be towards the engine. I don't have a Big Gun exhaust, but I'm pretty sure you can tell by doing that.
