First you gotta consider the price. 145rikens vs. 100holeshot mx. Then if you race in hard packed stuff you should get the rikens. If you race in some muddier conditions you should get the holeshots. The holeshots wear alot faster though. It is a tough call. It depends where you race. If you can afford it you should get a pair of each.

yes, James70214 said it perfect, when i get my 400 i will get 2 sets of rims with one set of each tire...same on the back....turf tamers and holeshots!!!
Also another name for Rikens are just MX Radials.... might have heard that... here is a pic of them on bobby ross's blaster....

get the rikens, I have them, they last 5 times longer than the hole shots.

Is it true though that the rikens might as well be slicks when you get in muddy conditions??

I'm wondering cuz the holeshots do wear out quick but there starting to push in turns as it is and I don't wanna buy some rikens and have brand new tires that push in the corners too.

I have both pair. The rikens SUCK in muddy conditions. But in hard pack you cant beat them. The holeshots are great for muddy and loamy type conditions. The Rikens can last years where the Holeshots last maybe 1.5-2 months of hard racing action. Mo

I would rather have problems in the mud every once in a while than have to order new tires all the time. Shipping will start to add up too.

I'm gonna have to agree with everyone else. Rikens do suck in the mud. My friend wrecked during a race once because of them. I ride mostly soft dirt, and MX's work great, but like everyone else has already said, they are a soft compound and wear out fast. Rikens on the other had will last forever, ok, not forever, but a long time. i mean, they are car tires.

marshals are the new radial of choice. they dont pack up like the rikens.

Marshals are just as bad as rikens.

just do what I do, get used to riding on REALLY bald front tires, then when your rikens get packed up, it's no big deal...

Here's a pic of my radials (on top)
