Hey guys, my friend warped his front rim on his 400ex and he bought another one. What is the easiest way to take the rim off to do the swap? Everyone shop around is closed for the holidays and he would like to ride this weekend, this is why we are doing it outselves. Any input is appreciated.

run it over with a big truck, that will break the bead, or get some tire rods

soak it in gasoline and light it..tire only....and only in an enclosed, confined space.......

well any way, get a 2 by 4 and place it on the edge of where te tire and rim meet and drive a car up it and keep goin aroudn the tire untill its totally off the bead, then break out the screw drivers and soapywater and start tryin to pry the tire off, u do it just liek a bike tire

stock tires for some reason are very difficult to get off for some...if your having trouble with your stock tires i would just save your time & take them to a tire shop that will get them off:( :(

yeh they are hard as crap to get off. I talked to our near buy racing shop and they said to leave the air in the tires and that it would work. I don't know how true this is, but i think we are goin to try again tommorrow.

I think the firs trick only works for gettin the bead ON. Run the tire over with a trick then pry the wheel away with a bar or sumtin works for me.

thats a good one too. Use soap when u put it back onto the bead. It slips on easy with proper lube. Remember that one guys that is not only good with atv tires ;) its also helps with automotive tires. jk :blah:

I have had great luck by spraying the bead with wd40 and using my diesal 1 ton and run it over right next to the bead. Works every time. Somtimes you have to hit it a couple of times but if you do it right it will come off.

Or, you could do like I did and overshot a step up double and blow both tires off the wheels. yea that hurt a bit :o I have holeshot mx's on douglas red labels. Just kiddin don't do it that way it's hazardous to your health. soapy water and a a strong screw driver should do the trick.
