Well, it's a done deal, just got off the phone with the stealership. I'm finally going to be an EX Rider this weekend!:D I'm trading off a '99 banshee I rebuilt for the g/f for my choice between 2 '01 400EX's.:p Going to pick it up Saturday....not that any of you probably care, but I'm pumped!:devil:

i personally would get the red one and rip off all of the stickers....i think thats why everyone likes the yellow 400, cuz it doesnt have those stupid stickers on it like the red 400, and the yellow one is missing the back ankle protectors or w/e behind the pegs....oh well, have fun, be safe, and get some more pics...sounds like a good x-mas for you:D

I think from the pics, the red one looks like it's in better condition(- the stickers), it's got aftermarket bars, looks cleaner too. I don't know though for sure,...I'll make my choice after looking at them in person & hearing them run, etc... I'll get some pics when I get back home with it.

That's a durn good question....I've pondered that myself, but didn't ask. Doesn't make much sense does it? I figure since I have a choice, I'll be able to pick the better of the 2 when I see them.

i'd go with the red one...even though i don't like the color. look at the rims,the yellows are all torn up and the reds are perfect. JMO

better yet....ask the dealership to include servicing the pivot bolt in the deal. that way if it is stuck they have to deal with it

Thanks Pappy! Will do...but I don't know if they will because they're going to have to replace some stuff on my banshee...the clutch for sure & I imagine they'll replace the axle too since it's bent. Oh yeah,...and probably the 'custom' shifter too. hehe(the jackass that owned the shee before me had taken some pitted metal & welded a 3/8" bolt to it for the shifter...looks like ****, but works ok.)hehe

The front tires on the red one probably came on it / less use maybe, & still have a bit of tread.

Both 01's with stock exhaust??

I have always thought the red 400's look way better anyway.
