Quad colors

I am getting ready to buy new plastic and get some powder coating done. I was originally going with black race plastic but am thinking about white plastic. Could some of you guys post some pics of your sweet quads so I can get an idea for plastic and powder coating colors.

Come on guys...I did a search but couldn't find any good pictures of quads with black plastic on red or blue frames, or white plastic on a blue frame.

i couldnt begin to tell ya.

its a members quad...stocktires is his name. its a damn fine R in anyone's book:p

when i sold this R to a customer he wanted it to look close to stock tires quad. he chose trans blue to accent the other colors.

I got another question for you pappy. I am buying a powder coating kit and soma basic colors to start with, But was wondering how much a pound of pounder would do.

it really depends on the color. there is an actual formula for "MIL" thickness and area coverage but i dont have a mil gauge so i wing it. normal coverage would be maybe a solid color for a frame to a pound of powder. a bad ground or too high line pressure could easily waste a 1/4 pound and most guns wont pick up or flow powder if you dont have enough powder in your cup. so ....how far will a pound of powder go:confused:


dont worry about running out when you first start. its a dry powder and if you cant fully cover a part...blow it off and order more:p

try silvervien also....its a very easy powder to learn with and even if ya screw it up it turns out ok..lol

kepp the stock plastics and podercoat either yellow or black, i have seen a red 400 with yellow frame and it really standed out

my brother has black plastic and like a chrome teal color powder coating

mine is orange plastic wit like a chrome purple powder coating
do something diffrent so it doenst look like u copied some body elses ... i think orignal quads are the baddest quads out there
