i cracked my 400ex rear plastics arround the seat and i was wondering how that threebond stuff from dennis kirk works...i need to get my plastics fixed so they wont look so tacky....

drill holes & ziptie them together real good...i dont know how good that stuff works from denniskirk, my guess would be not so good.

nah i think zip ties look tacky as shyt....i dunno if the stuff works...i want to get a set of used rears that aint broke....yellow...but i also know that you can weld plastic...i mean u cant see the crack that bad unless u stare at it directly...

On my brothers old 300ex i just cut a piece of steel and and drilled holes and put pop rivits in. it held the plastic realy good.

Sometimes the crack spreads if you don't ziptie.

yea i kno....i took them off and realized its worse than i thought....im bout to bid on a set on ebay....i hope i can get um...b/c i need them bad...its pretty much cracked all the way arround the seat, and under the seat too...so its pretty crummy....if i dont get a new set im ziptieing....but zipties look like shyt....i bought a new graphics kit for my plastics...and i didnt even put the rear half on yet b ecause that would be just plain dumb if i plan on getting new 1's ne way

you can get the factory rear plastic for cheap, like $50 or $60 i think

I had a 6 inch crack in my fronts. It was there for a while then I decided to race cut my fenders. I used a plastic welder and cut strips off the fenders I cut off and fixed it right up. Doesn't look too bad.

Check harbor freight tools. They sell a plastic welder for pretty cheep. Never tried it but a buddy did and it looked OK.

Has anyone ever tried fiberglass resin? I do bodywork and use it alot. It super cheap(10.00) You can do it from underneath. Hardens like fiderglass and is clear.

They best way to do it is to zip tie it, if its done right you dont even notice it. :D :D it looks beter then a big gob of glue on your fendersblah:

I have total rebuilt on of my front fender mounts with aluminum and zip ties. you cant even tell unless you look under the fender

Any way you try to fix it you NEED to drill a small hole right at both ends of the crack an 1/8 in will do. This will stop it from spreading:

just pick up a cheap plastic welder. i have one and it works great. you can actually reattach a piece that has broken all the way off. I picked mine up from www.urethanesupply.com they make a special welder for atv plastic.

My quad had one big crack in the front fender when I bought it and was thinking about finding someone to do the plastic welding thing on it, but decided to try super glue first. And so far (4 months later) it's still holding like a charm and really doesn't look bad either. Just have to take alittle time and clean the crack good and hold the plastic together untill it drys alittle....

What i did on my friends quad, was use a heat gun. Take a heat gun, soften the plastic up real good then with the screw driver drag extra plastic into the crack. Once it is all filled, cool it will a hose and smooth it down with a dremel. Looks pretty good and a lot cheaper then new plastics.
