I see there is a Burgard anti vibe stem for 175.00. And I can get a Pep stabilizer for 129.00. Is this O.K. stuff for the average Joe XC racer? I don't want the best but I don't want to waste money either. Is there a better set up that isn't too much more expensive? Thanks!

I have ran denton and pep steering stablizers. The pep is an excellent choice. I would much rather have a pep than denton. The denton doesnt get as tight as the pep.

that will be a fine combo for riding or racing.

That setup should work just fine. I personally like the Denton type stabilizers though.

thanks guys! My only concern is that the stabilizer bracket on the stem would eventually work loose and wear out. The more expensive stems have the welded bracket for the stabilizer. Could I just have a bracket fabricated and welded to the Burgard stem? Thanks again!

I have the denton and like it.

Not sure how the pep clamps, but if it is like the denton, the clamp wont come loose. It's an extremly tight fit.

Yeah the PEP will stay tight. I had my on the whole season and it didnt come off. That burgard and pep set-up would be an excellent choice for the average racer.

I run the PEP and am very satisfied with it. It holds onto the steering stem like a sonovagun! The clamp around bolt and then the tightening bolt on the opposite end hold very well. I am not a great rider, but the PEP makes me ride better than I am I think, lol!;)

The denton stab. is universal. It will fit just about any quad made... they cost around $150 but they are worth their weight in gold for sure..

magnum is garbage don't waste your money. If your looking for a cheap lever the MSR Raptor is much nicer, even though it costs twice as much.

If you wait a couple of months, I might sell you mine, I think I'm going to get the RTC levers.

i've got the magnum lever and perch it's a real good setup for the first month but wears out really quick i guess you get what you pay for only 20 bucks but in no time it wears out and you get up and down free play and then the sucker starts eating clutch cables left and right, i would save your cash a little longer and get somthing better

and bug, what the dilio why do you say not to mount it like that, i have mine mounted like that and haven't experienced any probs

I would get a RTC lever, or just get a CR250 setup.

I found that it bound up a bit. I flipped it so the screws where on the outside, and just felt it mounted better. Plus they are easier to take off and adjust the other way.

I guess I should clarify, that mounting it that way is okay, but if you take off the braket and flip it the other way, I found it to work much better. IMO.

I messed with that stupid thing for like 6 hours, chewed up half the PC on my stem. It works good, just the mounting is a pain.

Best one is either a RTC or a hydrolic (sp). But those run $100+.

My $35 MSR isn't bad, and I haven't heard bad things about the CR.

Just with C&D. I'm sure they sell the RTC!
