most of the blue i shoot is this color. the shade will vary depending on the type of metal....the roundness( round tube provides an appearence of higher gloss and depth) the amount of light will also affect the shade of translucent colors. the brighter the light (sun) the lighter the shade will appear.

I was wondering the same thing.... does the durability change for the better or worse with multiple and differing types of layers?
Joe

i havent had any complaints with the trans blue. we tried testing it by shooting it over straight nickle and it didnt hold up. the reason i summized was that it was applied to thin and no clear was added. i prefer to shoot over blasted metal or atleast scuffed so that the powder has something to bite into. all pc will or has the abilty to be chipped. its just a coating and needs to be cared for. it shouldnt peel away or just fall off..lmao
i try to steer people away from the multi layer colors on high use parts but if they want it ill shoot it. i add a coat of clear normally as an extra precaution depending on the part being done.
building up the layers will weaken the powder due to over curing. hence the reason i try and stay away from it on high or ruff service parts.
but like i said...so far i havent had any troubles. i think dune surfer was about the only one that had a serious issue and that was just my fault not really the powder.
i have probably shot close to 10,000 pieces in translucent colors so if one or two parts have to be redone or didnt hold up i think its safe to say they arent too bad of a color to choose from.
the bluevein is pretty cool. basically all translucents are a tinted clear powder. ive worked with my main powder supplier on different powders and im happy to say there are some new ones out. i tested a few during thier development and im proud to say they should look killer.
new colors out will be:
translucent chrome
translucent yellow
translucent copper
translucent gold
