i just cut off 3" on mine and then i put a turn down end cap on it without the disc. it looks good. i haven't had a chance to ride it because i am rebuilding my motor. once i get it back together, i will post some pics. do a search on this and you will find a few post.

Don't do it. Performance gains are minimal but the noise increase is substantial. Not worth it in my book.

i took my muff apart today the baffle collapsed w/b.i guess i slept on the repack.did'nt realize these mufflers required service.but it seems to me you could cut off the can behind the rear mount shorten it all the way to the rear upper mount.you would have to remove the rivets with a drill.also you would have to shorten the baffle to fit.you will need a welder if you plan to reuse the baffle.if an e series even has one. not sure. i have an r4.if you repack your cut silencer and reuse the baffle.i would think your quad would be quieter than if you are running on a muffler that has more than 20 hrs on it.

I took off just over 2 in from my E-series ad I thi9nked that it might have helped , but you will not notice much of a change. I did so that that my grab bar would clear the exhaust. I take the bar and tilt it down about 2-3 in. I did shorten the inside baffle when I did it and also did a replace at the same time.

from what I have read on this site, it doesn't do much to power gains, maybe a little more bottom end. Also a lot of people that do it, end up taking a good 5" off, and it makes it about 30% louder. In some cases that doesn't matter, but in some you may get a ticket;)

If you have a hacksaw and a poprivet gun you can do it yourself. that is all of the tools that you will need. forgot, a drill to get the old poprivets out. It is not that hard to do. For what it would costy in shipping you can buy what you need. what you take off outside is what you shorten the core.

Yeah, you wont gain any power, just lots of noise pollution.

you cant feel any power difference, and how much louder does it get. but i wanted to get rid of the disc and i heard its not good to run it without disc but someoen toild me it runs better cut shorter with no disc.

If you are shorting it because you are wanting more, you are wasting your time. I still run mine with 13 discs on the end. I don't think that my sound was any different after cutting. But, I only took off 2in so that it would clear my grap bar. With no disc it will be very, very loud cut or not cut.

running 12 disks and no spark arrestor would be the same as now disks right?

The discs act as the spark arrestor.
The other part in the pipe is the quiet core.
It's useless unless you need to be quiet.

If you have a high compression piston and can u run open end and no disc on the white brothers or is that bad for it.
