Are the 250 & 300 the same except for engines, and did they both come with reverse?

Thanks. I found a frame & engine at the dump today and I typed in the VIN # over the net to see what it was. It came out as a 1991 honda, but it didn't tell me what model. I just want to know what model it is so I can get the parts to fix it.

Yes it is a square tube frame. I thought it was a 250r at first glance untill I saw it had a 4 stroke engine on it. Does anyone know if new 300ex parts are interchangable with it?

Yes almost all parts are interchangable between the 250x and 300ex. :o

Should I try to fab up some brackets to put on the front of the frame so I can use 400ex a arms & shocks or would 300ex a arms & shocks be better?

there is lots of info on a 300ex front end. the 400ex conversion is NOT the way to go, look around, me and jeff@quadshop have posted a ton of info on this

yea the 400ex conversion is NOT the thing to do! You wont be able to steer (pretty much). Im gonna just order up some +2's and prolly just some Works triple rates w/ rezzys......but anyway do you want to make it into a MX racer, XC racer, or just play ride?

I was just putting this together for play. I was looking for a cheap way to get a wider & better front suspension. I am going to go up 100cc on the motor to a 350cc so I wanted a better suspension. What size shocks could I use with +2 300ex a arms, and do they maxe extended swing arms for the 300ex?

you can run stock shocks with +2 a arms, but its not really recommended. Look at Burgard. They have great products at really low prices. They have everything you need for suspension. And go to ebay for shocks. You can get Works Double rates w/o rezzys for like 300 bucks. Thats prolly were im gonna be ordering my a arms and then get my shocks from ebay. BTW is the frame red? cuz my friend has a 91 250x and it has a red frame.

The frame I think was original red, but it is painted blue. What size rear axle should I go with, with the +2 a arms?
