400 gasket kit

Ive been looking for a gasket kit for a 400ex and found a K&S kit for $80 and K&S kit for a xr400 for $60. I thought gasket wise the two motors are the same. Can anyone shead some light on this?

get your rocky mountain magazine or go to their website & buy the TUSK gasket kit..it is very inexpensive & of a decent quality...so i have heard

i don't know much about the xr400 gaskets besides the fact that they are thinner.

ive heard up to 18 hp gain,,,;) if you have oil leaks, or if you are rebuilding you engine replace the gaskets between parts you take apart. if you dont have any leaks there is absolutly no reason to replace gaskets. if it aint broke, dont fix it.

Well, the trans is broken so while I am fixing that, I figured I would replace the gaskets and pickup 20hp and 2 1/2 x the torque.:devil:
