View Full Version : Is there a "no stupid people" option on Ebay?

Why do I get some of the dumbest people asking me the stupidest questions? I dont sell much but when I do I always get retarded questions and alot of times bidders that dont want to pay what they bid!
Case in point...my Skin decals...sorry if someone on this board bought these but damn dude...you need to wake up!
As most people who've Ebayed know..the "Buy it now" option disappears after someone bids. This guy was the SECOND bidder and won the item. I state in the Auction very clearly that "Buy it now" recieves free shipping otherwise shipping is $5. I sent the winning bidder an invoice for 27.72 which was his high bid (22.72) plus $5 shipping. He emailed me complaining that he couldnt pay the 22.72 he owed me because the bill said 27.72.....he said "it said free shipping" ....I in turn being the nice guy I am explained to him what was plainly written in English and decided Id compromise because maybe he misread something....I told him Id accept $25 total(which was original "buy it now" price including shipping) and we would call it even. So .....he sends me a payment via paypal for 22.72.
Retarded? Or am I missing something? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=50447&item=2448220274

EMAIL I RECEIVED.......................................... ...............................
2 things... You shouldnt put in your auction that they fit for 93 to 02
if your not sure... I know for a FACT those dont and another that is
wrong with your discription is that you say Buy it now gets free
shipping.... You dont have a Buy it now Option on this auction........................................... .................................................

Duh!

when i sell items i always find all the idiots also. most of the time they wanna send a money order when i say the auction is a paypal auction only. or they use "buy it now" and want to use a money order. i try to be nice to the first couple but after that no more.

That's why I've only purchased one thing off ebay and have never sold anything. Too much babysitting just to sell a small item. I'll put it in the local mini-merchant where I don't have to monitor it and I can deal with a local person face-to-face.

i sell a bunch of posters & CD's on ebay & have never had any of these porblems...Iv'e made thousands on ebay, thats how I got my 400ex

lol...i got a bad feedback for selling +2 tie rods. the buyer complained they were too long...lmfao

i even stated they were +2 in the auction.

another bad feedback came from a non paying bidder.

sometimes it aint worth the effort

I gave up trying to sell on Ebay, it is just too frustrating.

Most of the time it is just idots asking if I will end the auction early. I simply don't respond.

As far as buying goes, I find it interesting when I am about to win an auction at a good price, then all of a sudden I am outbid by a person with 0 feedback. Mighty suspicious in my opinion.

if someone out bids you with zero feedback, just look at the date they started on ebay, if it's the same day or close to when the auction started it's usually a fake bidder.

lmao.. i rember one like that.

i also got a neggitive feedback because,.. well. here
i was selling an antique electric iron. it was really heavy. so shipping was goint to be a couple of bucks. the lady understood that. then it was shipped out. everthing. she gave me a negitive because she wanted it as a doorstop and it wasnt heavy enought. so she sent it back. in the mail. and wanted a refund. lol it sold 5$ shipping was 15$. lol so the first time she spent 20$ then to ship it back another 15$ then gives me the negitve. lol stupid people

I never have bought anything on ebay, but I do have a question.
You said above that the "buy it now" option ends as soon as someone bids

I think I have seen dealers selling things such as videos or something they have tons of, all of the same item. There is a buy it now button, and its not a auction, its just "Buy it now"

Also I have seen auctions where the buy it now button is there, even though bidders have already bid? The price with the buy it now is normally about what it would go for at the end of a auction.
What gives on these?

The sellers sometimes aren't to bright either, I asked the seller if the set of shocks he was selling were ZPS, he emailed me back and said no they were racing shocks.

i like when you list an item, like for example..."chrome 400ex ct pipe, brand new, never installed, fits honda 400ex 1999-2003." you put a clear picture of it on there, then you get a ton of emails, people asking you, will it fit a recon, what color is it, how long was it on your quad, does it come with the stock parts? you just get alot of what i consider dumbazz questions. damnit people, read my description, look at the picture. if you do not understand at this point, bid on a hooked on phonics tape, learn to read, then view my auctions, and leave me the hell alone... there, i am over that now...

Once the reserve is met on a normal auction the "buy it now" option disappears...most of mine do not have a reserve so it disappears right away. But it is true that on some auctions the buy it now is the same as the reserve and doesnt disappear.
:D
