Its gonna have to be done sometime. The clutch is one of the easiest things work wise to replace anyways. you can just run it till it needs replaced. I have ran a 440 for 2 years on a stock clutch and its still in pretty good shape. But i'm going to use a 8 plate setup in my stroker motor.
