250r shocks question

Does anyone know if the 400 ex stock front shocks work any better than the stock 250r shocks on a 250r?

My friend has had them on his r for about two years. He loves it. My stock shocks were just about done on my r, so I just picked up a set on ebay for $50. I haven't ridden mine yet, but I can't wait to check it out. The 400ex shocks are 1/4 inch longer than the r shocks, and they fit great.
