We try to catch the movie and the song every year at Thanksgiving. My hubby does a killer Arlo impression. :)

That song is one of my all-time favorites, but I had no idea that Alice's Restaurant was a real place... I always figured that maybe Arlo was a little messed up again and "thought" maybe it was a real place. Does Alice really live in a church? Ha ha.

That's a cool pic. And no, she doesn't live in the church, she lives in the bell tower. The church is where they kept the half a ton of garbage.

"I walked in, sat down, I was hung down, brung down, hung up and all kinds of mean nasty ugly things"

"I got good and drunk the night before so I looked and felt my best..."

Arlo Guthrie is awesome:D

Such a nice boy to use the shovels and rakes and other implements of destruction to get rid of the half a ton of garbage.
LOL;)

The menu at Alice's has the history printed on it, next time I get up there I will try to take a pic of it and post for all to see... The setting is beautiful, nestled in the redwoods not far from Half Moon Bay in northern California.
