i need to make my 400 faster! my friend just got a z400 and he blows by me, i already got a white bros pipe but i need more speed or even more acceleration would be good. anyone know a good, reasonable price, reliable kit that will make me stay wit him a bit more? anything will help doesnt need to just be a kit anything! thanks

416 kit with a 11:1 or higher piston, stage 2 hotcam, porting...you should not only keep up...if he is stock you should blow by em...also an airfilter if you dont already have 1...and after all this an FCR39mm...that is if ur willing to spend the money on it...the 416kit and cam and porting would be ur best bet...then step up to the carb if needed

Beat a Z400 and a Banshee with my 416..........stock Z400 by 5 to 6 quads and a Piped Banshee by 3 to 4 Quads.........416 JE 11:1 with Swain Tech Coating, HotCams stage 2, Head Surfaced, Cometic gaskets. E-series with 18 disc's, K&N airfilter w/2 Outerwears,170 Main.................good to go, Talk to C&D.....

:-\ if ur friend has a stock Z400 and your dragging him with the mods u have u should beat him.... I know i have beaten stock z400's on my EX with a pipe and air filter by a quad length or 2 on a road up a hill

my bad it isnt completely stock dg pipe and twin air, air filter

get an air filter, and im sure you will keep up with him if not be right next to him

hmmm i had just and e-series and a aluminum airbox and never had a z blow me away drag or the track or the woods

It doesnt matter what kind it is. Have a reputable engine builder bore it to 87mm get a 87 mm piston, have them put in a hotcam, and get your head ported like XxHonda_RacerxX said. Its not rocket sience its just putting the right parts together.

get rid of the dg and get a full exhaust system. (not dg)
